On Tuesday afternoon, February 14,2023, Gracie Mae Barner entered a new life. She said good-bye to this life and without a backward glance went to rest with God. On November 17,1935, Gracie Mae Booker Barner was born to the late Willie Mae Booker and Coot Booker. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Saint James CME Church, where she was a faithful member until her health failed.

She received her education in the Early County School. She also was employed in the Early County School for many years and retired.

Ms. Barner was united in holy matrimony to the late Freddie Barner to this union. They had seven children and two preceded her in death, China Foster and Freddie Charles Barner.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and caregiving daughter, Pauline McClendon (Alex) of Albany, GA, sons, Freddie Barner, Jr., of Albany, GA, Benny Barner of Damascus, GA, Gregory Barner (Linda) of Blakely, GA, and daughter, Martha Hudson of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Elowise Thomas (Nate) of Albany, GA; two brothers, Mr. J.C. Booker of Palatka, FL, and Mr. Ernest Booker of Chicago, IL,; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including her loving and dedicated caregivers, Emma Wright, Dorothy White, Etta Mae Hayes, and the Phoebe Hospice nurses.
