Freddie Leroy Whitmore was born August13, 1944 to the late Ida Odesa Whitmore (1990) and Delbert C. Whitmore (1992) in Rienzi, Mississippi.

Freddie, affectionately known as Leroy was raised in Rienzi, Mississippi and attended the public schools of Alcorn County and worked at the Oil Mill and Mitchell Shirt Factory.

Leroy moved to Orlando, Florida in 1966 and worked as a delivery driver for Jordan Marsh. He later joined Mid Florida Harvesting where he worked as a diesel mechanic and ran a crew of 20 to 30 employees in the agricultural industry. Leroy joined Pep Boys Auto Parts store where he retired.

He loved working on cars for family and friends and taking road trips with his brothers. He met his future wife Dorothy in 1977. They married in 1979 and remained married for 43 years.

He leaves to cherish in his memories: his wife, Dorothy Whitmore. His children Jerome Shumpert (preceded in death), Sharita Gaither (Charles), Reginald Hodge (Tiffany), Regina Teer (Donald), Newanda Hodge, Frederick Whitmore (Tonya), Vincent Whitmore (Erica). Twenty grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two brothers; Donald Whitmore and Delbert Whitmore (Tracy) and a host of nieces and nephews.
